What We Believe

We have faith in the person, teaching and example of Jesus who lived in Palestine 2000 years ago.

We believe that Jesus is the son of God and that Jesus both taught and showed us that ‘God is love and those who live in love live in God and God lives in them.’ (1 John 4 :16)

Christians from the earliest of days were called people of ‘The Way’ and this meant ‘The Way of Jesus’.

We at St Leonard’s do our best to follow ‘the way’ of Jesus.

We do this because we believe that this is the way we can best cherish our world and each other, whether neighbour or stranger.

This is how we give honour to God, who is love.

Working out what this means and how to do it is a life long journey. At St Leonard’s we are doing our best to work that out together.

You are warmly welcome to join us!

In the meantime you can find out more about the beliefs and practices of the Church of England on its website.
