Welcome to our Eco Church page!
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead
In our MAP we have set out our vision to show love both to our neighbour and our planet. We believe the climate is in crisis and have a commitment to find ways of caring for all creation.
In September 2022 the PCC adopted a new Parish Environmental Policy this gives clarity and direction to our vision. As we live this commitment together, we hope to create kinder, greener, more sustainable future.
For the first 3 years of the project The Diocese of Southwark supported us in the funding of a designated Eco Church lead. Now that the funding has come to an end, we are building on the great start we have made and are looking ahead to how we can achieve our vision to be an Eco Church into the future.
We have recently partnered with the Brixton Bike Project and are proud to have collected almost 100 bikes to be recycled and given to asylum seekers and refugees to help them get around the city for work.
We were also delighted to have been awarded an A Rocha Eco Church, Silver Award this year, our church yard was awarded ‘silver’ in the ‘Lambeth in bloom’ awards as well! Next stop GOLD!
